It does its job but it’s visually quite dull. I still think the overall look and art style is pretty boring, bland middle of the road Tolkien inspired fantasy. You can be a right sarcastic bastard if you want The dialogue choices are also a lot funnier than I remember. It’s a dense game that can be played at a slower pace where you drink in all the lore and atmosphere, or at a much faster pace where you’re jumping from battle to battle I really appreciate how much story and dialogue there is in the game, and how you can chat to people for quite a while or you can pretty much ask them to get to the point. I’m only 6 hours in, currently preparing for the battle at Redcliffe castle. I’m playing as a female elf mage this time and I’m finding that a lot more compelling considering how everyone in this world seems to hate elves and mages I mostly did just the main quest (and then Awakening) whereas this time I’m going to try and do a lot of the DLC. I played as a noble human warrior (because I was a boring little shit) and I remember disliking the game and dropping it after a few hours, only to give it another shot a month or so later. I also played Inquisition last year, and thought that was a solid WRPG that was a lot of fun when it wasn’t being a tedious open world grind

I actually only played the Mass Effect trilogy in 2017 ( and made a thread about my blind playthrough while it was in progress) and I thought those were phenomenal games. So I recently moved my PS3 into the bedroom and after all the fuss and discussion over BioWare and the direction they have moved towards this generation, I decided to fire up DA:O to see how it’s fared
